And So It Begins....

With the inspiration of reading several friend's blogs.....and the desire to do something other than read and write about the law.....I've decided to join the blog world as most people are doing.  I typically hate doing what everyone else is doing, BUT I made an exception for this. So here goes.....

I'll dedicate my first post to introducing you to the coaches and teammates in my life.  If you read this enough you'll probably understand why I refer to them as this.....I am, as most of them would say, "obsessed with sports."

I want to say the Head Coach in my life is Jesus Christ.  But thank God for the grace this coach shows...I too often try to override coaching decisions!  I will dedicate many posts to this in the future.

Next on the line-up card....the assistant coaches in my life.....

Mom & Dad.
Where would I be without these two?! They have pointed me to Christ, loved me without bounds,
and been the shoulders I stand on so often.
Dad was actually my coach for so many years, creating some of my fondest childhood memories.
A bond we still share.
Mom is my other half.  I pray I can become half the woman she is.

Then the Two Older Sisters.
Yep, I'm the baby and love every minute of it. They'll tell you that is an understatement.
The older we get, the closer we get, the more memories and laughs we share.
MY TWO VERY BEST FRIENDS.
These two would be my starting point guard and starting pitcher.
Both captains of my team.

Candy Cane(as she loved being called as a child) is a new mother and an adorable one at that.
(you can bet her munchkin is on the squad--#1 recruit!)
CC has been a listener, an example (of what to do and NOT to do, haha), encouragement,
and my favorite at the moment--made me an aunt!
She lives approximately 7 minutes from me...a blessing I do not take for granted.
She is married to K who is freaking crazy cute about being a dad.
He and I share an obsession with Carolina Basketball.

(CC and Lester (soon to be introduced) will really appreciate this picture)

Kermit has almost achieved her dream of being a Pharmacist--she is graduating in May, as Dr. Docter.
She is an inspiration, a listener, the one that tells me to shutup and do it.
Being closer in age we had our fair share of fights as children, but I can honestly say today that when days go by that I don't talk to her I feel like part of me is missing.
Kermit recently married J. Doc (yes, his first name is J. --literally) and moved to Michigan.
"Operation: Get Them Back to the South" is in full force.
J. Doc is quite the character.  We share a love for FUN.
Kermit sometimes wishes she wouldn't let us go out of the house together. She often ends up the one on the embarrassing end.  (hence the lovely sweaters we bought for them to wear below)

And then there's The Munchkin.  She is the center of the Mitchell family's world now.
(and with every reason to be)
This little face brings a smile no matter what.
I waited for a long time to be an aunt...the feeling goes beyond what I imagined.

(a post or two I'm sure will feature CC Jr.)

That does it for the family roster.....there will be more to come on them in the playbook, as well as one on the rest of my family that mean the world to me.

The friend line-up.  No way I can put them all in the first post, otherwise you'd be reading for days.
God has blessed me more than I deserve when it comes to friends.

Baba.
Potluck roommates in Granville West 1828.  Inside jokes we'll never forget.
Trips made together or to see each other. 304. Kind heart. Endless laughs. Shoulder to cry on.
Always looking out for me. Enduring law school together.
 BEST FRIEND.

Lester.
Known her less than 2 years, feels like a lifetime. The Eminem to my Weezy. (We share a love for good jams.) Finish each others' thoughts. Lots of laughter and terrible tv. Always there to listen.
A caring heart (though she sometimes won't admit it.) Makes life fun.
BEST FRIEND.

THE THREE AMIGOS. THE THREE STOOGES. OR SIMPLY JUST, THE THREE.

LoveNest Ladies (Abs included.)
These girls changed my life.  8 girls in one house (plus frequent visitors).
Changing the world by going to the nations. Rainbow chip cookies.
Lots of laughter. Friendships built on Christ. Dinner reunions. Prayerful support. DomeCave neighbors. Beauty inside and out.
BEST FRIENDS.

A couple of us missing (Liz & Star)--otherwise L to R: KT, Me, Abs, Kath, Em, & Megs.
Plus some of the boys. And a fun night of Laser Tag.

SURRY COUNTY LOVES.
"these are my people...this is where I come from..."

 Kelley. (Soon-to-be Kelley-Mack)
Best friends from day one. Things changed, our friendship grew. Sleepovers. Committed to Christ.
Lady Card Ballers for life. Acting stupid together.
Inseparable in high school...and pretty much the same when we're both back in Shoals.
BEST FRIEND.

BLT.
Always knows how to make me laugh. Like a sister to me. Always honest with me and not afraid
to tell me if I'm wrong (which I often need). Share a love for country music.
Reminds me of reality.  Beautiful blue eyes that reflect her spirit (regardless of what she tries to say). Know she has my back no matter what.
BEST FRIEND.

THE GANG.
These are the people I grew up with.....and the people I hope to grow old with.
There's St. Nick, Beks, My Kelley (again), Lishy, Gus, Me, and Cal.
I will dedicate a few posts to our shenanigans, past and present.
I'll just simply say this is my crew...then, now, and always.....an indescribable circle of friends.

So that is a small glimpse at the people in my life.  The people that play the game alongside me.
My teammates.
Or it's actually more appropriate to say the people that thankfully let me be a part of their lives.

I'm so excited to start this blog journey and share about the ways God blesses my life through these people and His love.
